TF3Cargo & industry

All 32 industries & production chain recipes

Transport Fever 3 has 32 industries: 13 raw producers that run without input and 19 processing plants and factories with fixed recipes. A Steel Mill, for example, turns 6 Iron Ore + 6 Coal into 3 Steel + 4 Sheet Metal. Filter all 32 by climate or tier below, or pick a town cargo to trace its full chain.

Cargo transfers & the 5 warehouse types

In Transport Fever 3, cargo only changes lines through a warehouse. Build one inside the catchment of both stations, use a Liquid, Bulk, Flatbed or Goods module per cargo type (or a Universal warehouse for a mix), then run a separate line to the consumer. Cargo will not wait on a platform for the next line.

Town demands: all 15 growth cargoes

Towns in Transport Fever 3 buy 15 cargo types: 7 for Town Shops (Beverages, Books, Canned Food, Clothes, Fish, Meat, Vegetables) and 8 for Town Industry (Bricks, Cement, Fuel, Furniture, Machines, Planks, Tools, Vehicles). Each town starts with one demand per district and adds more at levels 5, 7, 9 and 11.

Starter chains & backhaul loops

Start with a chain that has at most one processing step and ends at a town that wants it: Vegetables or Fish to Town Shops, Logs to a Saw Mill for Planks, or Crude Oil to a Refinery for Fuel. Income follows speed and straight-line distance, so keep routes direct and give vehicles a return load, such as Fertilizer back to a farm.

TF3Vehicles

Rail signals, junctions & vehicle eras

Path signals are the standard signal in Transport Fever 3: a train only needs its own path to the next signal or stop to be clear, so two trains can share a junction when their paths do not overlap. Use one-way signals to run double track, keep signals clear of switches, and match each wagon to its cargo specialization.

TF3Rail & roads

Underground stations, subway & light rail

TF3 supports underground tram infrastructure and light-rail-capable tram-trains. Choose the vehicle and infrastructure together: a normal railway train is not automatically a subway vehicle.

How to make money: loans, income and subsidies

Money in Transport Fever 3 comes from full vehicles covering a long straight-line distance. Borrow for one project at a time, keep vehicles loaded in both directions where you can, and repay loans early because interest is charged every month.

“A cargo type cannot be unloaded anywhere”

Trace each cargo type from its pickup to a reachable consumer or compatible warehouse on the line. A connected route and a loaded vehicle are not proof that a valid unloading destination exists.

Fish comes from Fishing Grounds and can serve commercial demand or food production. Crude oil from an Oil Platform or Oil Well goes to an Oil Refinery. Inspect the final consumer before choosing the sea-to-land transfer.
