Plan the line below ground

The developer’s Infrastructure overview shows tram infrastructure extending underground. Certain trams can also enter ordinary railway track, where railway signals and reservations apply. This capability belongs to the selected vehicle; it is not a promise about every tram.

For underground construction, the release manual documents the Underground Mode toggle in the road or track panel, with G as the PC shortcut. Switch it off when making a connection to surface infrastructure: underground mode prevents snapping to above-ground streets and tracks.

Check one complete journey

  1. Choose a passenger service and inspect the selected tram’s compatibility before buying a fleet.
  2. Place the intended stops and inspect the entrance’s passenger access. A visible entrance still needs a usable walking connection.
  3. Trace the physical connection from the depot, through the underground section and to every stop.
  4. Use the line preview to locate a broken section. Observe one vehicle completing the journey before expanding.
Evidence note

Routebook planning sequence. For underground-stop module choices, tunnel depth limits and heavy-rail underground stations, check the construction menu in your current build.

Light rail on a regional railway

A compatible tram-train can combine a street service and a regional rail leg. Check the transition, overhead wiring where needed, station access and the rail signals separately. A green street route does not resolve an occupied railway block.
